meditating-rose said: Hi, I had a question about your soy milk post. Okay so I know about soy milk having negative effects on males but how about females? I keep hearing and seeing so many different things so I get so confused! I recently started to ween out dairy and went to soy. Should I just drink almond milk instead?
That’s a good question! When I was reading, I didn’t see (nor was I looking for) anything about the impact on females. The impact on males was due to the estrogen hormone levels. I chose to cut out soy, because I’m nursing my baby boy. I would suspect that in high doses, soy could have an impact on anyone. BUT… I am NOT a doctor and would recommend talking to a doctor to find out more. Can you email your doctor? I love being able to email my doctor when I have questions. Good luck! 😊
This makes me happy!
I’m on a four day trip for work (and I’m excited about the conference itself) and the hotel upgrades me to a waterfront room for FREE!! Woohoo! I may have sat in bed last night looking out on the water while eating gelato.
I haven’t shared in a while, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been on track!
It’s been a stressful and busy couple of weeks, but I think I get a reprieve now. In the middle of all this craziness I’ve been working on a couple of things to get healthier again. I started off for a week or so of my goal being to not drink my calories (ie drinking only water) and incorporating more veggies into my day. I cut out fast food too. This was all pretty easy and my body started feeling better.
There’s the chocolate and snacking though. I’ve never worked somewhere that is so stocked with chocolate and snacks. I tried once to only get healthy stuff and the guys didn’t like it. Anyways, my next step was to knock off eating chocolate and planning better snacks. I’ve had a couple “oops” moment with the chocolate and stress, but I’ve been doing a whole lot better.
All has been going well until having a round of the stomach flu and fever today. So now I’m vegging and drinking Gatorade (and finally have time to write a post!).
How did I forget how much I love yoga?! I was going to exercise on the elliptical tonight, but I just wasn’t feeling it. I remembered my yoga DVDs and pulled one out.
Thirty minutes later. I’m stretched and relaxed. Why oh why have I not been doing that all along??
Yoga is my friend. I will be having dates with yoga much more often again.
Sometimes you just have to buy yourself flowers.
Today was less than perfect at work and I couldn’t wait to get home. But today was also one of those that the weather was absolutely perfect. Just the right temperature. Just the right breeze. Just the right gorgeous clouds soaring in the sky. How could we not go out for a walk?
Just over 2 1/4 miles of letting out stress and taking in beauty. Icing on the cake, doing it as a family.
Now I sit rocking my baby to sleep. Content and relaxed. Ahhhh…
Which reminded me of this quote:
